How much cooler can it get? Works great!

I purchased my Viper VSM200 from Amazon and got it at a great price. I also purchased a Viper Smart Start 4103XV remote system from Amazon to have it install along side with the VSM200. I didn't need any alarm features and wanted to keep costs down. I put together a system that would satisfy my needs for remote start with 2 Viper fobs (if i choose to use them), I decided to stay with the factory alarm considering I own a high end luxury car that has intelligent key fobs already installed and working fine. I also have the key-less entry, trunk pop and panic features with the 4103XV, though it does lack the 2 way alarm notifications of course(you have to buy a Viper Alarm system with 2 way to get this feature).

I had the system installed buy a Viper dealer installer and the system was installed professionally and quick. Everything worked fine via Viper fobs and Factory fobs, and with the Smart Start App on my Iphone and Ipad.

The VSM200 module is g reat but it is dependent on AT&T coverage for reception, that's key if you're having problems sending commands like I did. I sometimes would get sending error commands 12 or 51. So it only worked 90% of the time with the Smart start App on my phone without errors. Even though the car was parked in the same exact spot every time. I decided not to take it back to my installer and wanted to see if I could fix the problem myself first. I am familiar with 12 volts systems on cars and have some personal experience with alarms and audio\video installs. I found where the VSM200 was installed behind the kick panel and relocated to as high as possible behind the dash area. Installers do not usually do this, it's a lot of extra work to position the module there, I know, because it took me sometime to do it. Your installer may do this for you, if included in your install or may charge you extra. This would help give you better reception to the module in my experience.

Thi s immediately resolved the sending error commands issues that I was intermittently having, no more error codes 12 and 51. I am very happy with the product!
