5Awesome system and the best bang for your buck
By Dan
I've installed dozens of these and I haven't had a single problem with any of them. This is the best bang for your buck. I usually get the refurbished ones for about $100 and they sell like crazy. I always tell people to choose this over the one way alarms. This system is only a little bit more but has a TON of feature. If you want longer range and an LCD remote, the 5901 and 5902 are great systems too. But this is more than enough range for most people and it has a nice slim remote that looks great.

5LOVE IT!!
By Susan UNI Johnson
I had this product professionally installed and have never had any problems with it. The range is amazing; quarter of a mile I think, and I love the indicator which tells me if the system was activated or not. If installed and programmed correctly, the car CANNOT start on its own. It's not possible- you have to unlock the remote first, as if you're getting it out of sleep mode. You just activate the remote and then tell it what you want it to do; i.e. start the car, unlock/lock the doors, open the trunk. I have had other Viper remote starts which did start the car on accident when the remote was in my pocket. This system will give an error signal, beeping for a couple of seconds, if something has been pushed without activating the remote first. This system has performed every command I have given when in range. Start the car before you leave home, are at the check-out lane, before leaving work, ... you'll be in a comfortable climate when you get in.

5I love it, plus a little guide. The workaround to the only real complaint on it.
By PressAltandF4
Plain and simple, I love it. The remote start works great, the alarm is just the right sensitivity to satisfy me, the sensitivity can be changed with the remote. It's feature rich and if you look online, each of the extra modules for it are about $20 to $30 so I believe its going to be a well made investment.

As far as the transponder buttons being pushed in peoples pockets, there is a lock feature on the remote that makes your push a the function button and then unlock to unlock the remote and then you can continue with normal remote operation, it will automatically lock itself after 60 seconds and will not lock itself if your car is running.

To enter the transponder's programming menu, you hold down the function key for 12 seconds. it will beep after 3 seconds signifying vehicle selection, just ignore it and keep holding the function key down until the amber light is lit on the top and a long tone is pressed. After the amber light is lit, you want to hold the unlock key for about a second. that will bring the remote into it's programming menu. If you want the specifics on all the options such as power saving mode and such you'll have to look it up in the owners manual. To enter the transponder in it's safety mode, you will press the lock key. The lock key's LED will light up signifying that feature is currently on. If you want to turn it off, just follow the same steps.
